What is a Mennonite?
We are Christians who love Jesus! We are Christians who love our neighbor!
Mennonites are a branch of the Christian family tree that emerged during the 16th century around the time when Martin Luther instigated the Protestant Reformation. We became known for distinctive differences from Roman Catholic, Lutheran, and Reformed Christians like our beliefs in believers baptism and pacifism. At Hope, we don’t just focus on our distinctives, we cherish what we have in common with all Christians.
The members of Hope Mennonite come from many different backgrounds. Some grew up Mennonite, others Catholic. Some grew up Disciples of Christ, others in evangelical megachurches. Some didn’t grow up in church at all. Together we profess our love of God and seek to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
